Knowing
- How do you know?
- What to do?
- What to pick?
I don’t know.
- I used to not.
- To scream, kick, and cry
- over the smallest things
- I grew up, got better
- paved over
But never past
- So make a list
- break it down
- weigh, line by line
- and tally your sums
- How do you value two futures?
- Unknowable
- So talk it over
- You lovely friends!
- What do they know?
- The world? maybe.
- You?
- They know for them, but for you?
- Unknowable
- So check your gut
- Maybe she knows
- Sometimes she does.
- Why? How?
- Eternally unsatisfying
- I need to know
- But she’s
- unknowable
- It’s always either clean, obvious, trivial
- Or completely unknowable.
- I want to scream, kick, cry
- some times
- But I grew up.
- So I pick, I do
- either with ease,
- or at random
Because it doesn’t matter.
- But when it really, truly does?
